Prophetic Times to the End - Daniel - Part 15

Prophetic Times to the End

Dan. 11:24 Gabriel tells us the Antiochus IV will accomplish what his fathers never did, nor his ancestors, he will take from the rich all kinds of possessions, and he will devise his schemes against other nations, but just for a time. So we see he seeks to bring peace to his province by redistributing wealth, taking from the rich and giving to his followers.

Dan. 11:25 Gabriel says that Antiochus IV will build up his strength and heart in order to come up against the king of the south he will bring a great army against Egypt. This will provoke an extremely large army to mobilize and Egypt will prepare for war. Egypt will not be able to stand against Antiochus IV.

Dan. 11:26 Gabriel say’s that both kings will sit to eat, Antiochus is at Egypt’s borders for it is he who is eating the others choice food, but Antiochus IV will break the king of Egypt and Antiochus army will sweep away Egypt’s army and many will fall down slain.

Dan. 11:27 Gabriel explains that both king’s hearts are full of evil, both are full of lies at the same table; but their plans are of no consequence and will not succeed. For the time of the end
which has been appointed by God the Father, has yet to reach its appointed time.

Dan. 11:28 Gabriel tells us that the king of the North Antiochus IV will return to Syria with much possessions; but his heart will be set against God the Father and His holy ones in the beautiful land as he passes through. He will return to his home land in Syria.

Dan. 11:29 Gabriel tells us that at the appointed time of God the Father will stir up the king of the North’s heart, and he will come into the south, but it will not happen as the first and as the last for his appointed time to rule is ending.

Dan. 11:30 Gabriel explains that ships of Kittim (of Cyprus) will come against the king of the North, Popillius Laenas from the Roman senate forbade Antiochus IV from engaging war with Egypt. Popillius confronts Antiochus demands Antiochus to leave. Antiochus asks for time to respond. Popillius draws a circle in the sand around Antiochus and tells him to respond before he leaves the circle. Antiochus IV leaves disheartened for his homeland, becomes enraged at the beautiful land (Palestine). As he passes through, Antiochus shows no regard for God the Father’s holy ones. But Antiochus will show esteem for all renegade Jews who support him in forsaking the Holy covenant.

Dan. 11:31 Gabriel say’s that Antiochus army will arise destroy the temple forces (Priests) and do away with the regular sacrifice. Antiochus will forbid the holy ones of God to worship in their normal custom. This records the desecration of the temple by Antiochus IV. His 22,000 soldiers attacked Jerusalem on the Sabbath and killed many people. They took many women and children as slaves and plundered and burned the city. He burned as many copies of the Law as could be found. In culminating this act upon the Holy place he set upon “The Alter of Burnt Offering,” a alter of Zeus and had a pig offered on the alter. This took place in 167 B.C.)

Dan. 11:32 Gabriel explains that Antiochus used smooth words to persuade those renegade Jews by great rewards to turn to godlessness and act wickedly toward the covenant. Gabriel also tells us that there will be a faithful people who will display strength and take action.

Dan. 11:33 Gabriel tells us that God’s people, those who instruct his people, will give understanding to His holy ones. These holy ones of God will die a death from the sward because they will refuse to worship the false god of Zeus.
