Daniel 11:34 "Now
when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but
many shall cleave to them with flatteries."
Now when they
shall... The suffering that the
faithful endured served to refine and purify them. This time of
persecution was of short duration.
They shall be
holpen... The Jews received little
help in all their struggles with Antiochus Epiphanes.
Many shall cleave...
Even those who had been influenced by the flattery helped those who
were fallen. The things that happened immediately, prior to the
coming of Messiah, are actually a shadow of things in the end time.
We might say that
Epiphanes was a type of the little horn {antichrist}.
