Romans Chapter 11 Vs. 34

 

The Mystery of Israel's Salvation



For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? Rom 11:34



For who hath... Questions 80-82. Next, Rom. 13:3.


(Quoted from Isa. 40:13) “Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or [being] his counsellor hath taught him?”

God is all in all. We need Him, He does not need us. He loves us and wants us, but He does not need us.

Rev. 4:11 “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”

You see, the reason we were created in the first place was for God’s pleasure. We are His, we are not our own.




As above the apostle then quoted Isa. 40:13, which shows that God is the sole Designer of His wise plan. No one knows His mind or gives Him advice. This is followed by a free quotation from Job 41:11, which testifies to God’s sole responsibility for His acts. God is indeed the Sovereign of all things, the One to whom all creatures are accountable and whom all should glorify.

Ezekiel Chapter 40 Vs. 3

 Vision of the New Temple



And he brought me thither, and, behold, there was a man, whose appearance was like the appearance of brass, with a line of flax in his hand, and a measuring reed; and he stood in the gate. Eze 40:3





An angel conducted a tour of all the details shown to the prophet, appearing in the form of a man appearing like bright, gleaming bronze.

He could be understood as the Angel of the Lord since he is called “Lord” as you will see when we come to (44:2).

His “line of flax” was for larger measurements, the “rod” for shorter ones. (Rev. 11:1; 21:5). God measured what belongs to Him.

This tour was given by a man, probably an angel, whose appearance was like bronze.

Romans Chapter 11 Vs. 33

O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! Rom 11:33


of the wisdom... The majesty, grandeur and wisdom of God’s plan revealed (in verses 1-32), caused Paul to burst out in praise. This doxology is a fitting response not only to God’s future plans for Israel (chapters 9-11), but to Paul’s entire discussion of justification by faith (chapters 1-11).

Col. 2:3: “In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”

how unsearchable are... The minute we start speaking of someone who had no beginning and had no end, you get beyond our comprehension. In Proverbs, it lists so many things that God has done that we could never understand. Just the fact that God placed a planet in open space and it has stayed there is really unbelievable. Nature itself, tells us that there is an intelligence so far superior to us.

and his ways... Have you made any worlds lately? Neither have I. The human body is so complicated that doctors still do not know everything about it. Just look around you, and it will not be hard to realize that God is a mystery that our brain could never figure out. The best thing to do is just let God be God and realize that He has everything figured out for us. Accept Him on simple faith and then do it His way.



To God’s Glory And Praise

As Paul ended his discussion on the revelation of God’s righteousness in His sovereign choice, he burst forth in a doxology of praise to God. He exclaimed, Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! The plan of God for the salvation of all people demonstrates God’s infinite knowledge and His ability to use it wisely. God has revealed some of His judgments and His paths (“ways”) so that people may know them, but it is humanly impossible to exhaust them. Beyond tracing out translates the one word anexichniastoi, which means “incapable of being traced by footprints.” In Eph. 3:8, its only other use in the New Testament, it is rendered “unsearchable” and refers to the riches of Christ.

Ezekiel Chapter 40 Vs. 2

 The Hand of the Lord


In the visions of God brought he me into the land of Israel, and set me upon a very high mountain, by which was as the frame of a city on the south. Eze 40:2



In the visions... The visions of Ezekiel 40-48 concern things in the Millennium immediately following the regathering of Israel (Eze. 37:1-28), and the battle of Armageddon (Ezekiel 38-39). These millennial conditions will continue in the New Earth period and throughout all eternity.

Seven Visions of Eternal Things:

1. The future and eternal capital of all the earth—Jerusalem (Eze. 40:2; 48:30-35)

2. Rebuilt eternal temple (Eze. 40:5-43:12):

(1) The outer and inner courts and the gates (Eze. 40:5-43)

(2) The priests’ rooms (Eze. 40:44-46; 42:1-14)

(3) The altar court (Eze. 40:47)

(4) The temple itself (Eze. 40:48-41:26)

(5) The outer wall—4 sides (Eze. 42:15-20)

(6) The returning glory and restored monarchy (Eze. 43:1-12)

(7) The sacrificial altar (Eze. 43:13-17)

(8) Ordinances of the altar—reorganized services (Eze. 43:18-44:8)

(9) The restored priesthood (Eze. 44:9-21)

3. The holy oblation and new division of the land (Eze. 45:1-8)

4. The new civil and religious laws (Eze. 45:9-46:24)

5. The millennial river (Eze. 47:1-12)

6. New division of the land (Eze. 47:13-48:7, 48:23-29)

7. The holy oblation—including the temple and city sites (Eze. 48:8-21, 48:30-35)

a very high...

Visions of Ezekiel and John

Here Ezekiel saw the future and eternal promised land, earthly Jerusalem, the temple, and the eternal worship (Eze. 40:5-48:35). He saw this from a very high mountain. Compare the vision of John on a great and high mountain when he saw the new earth, new heaven, the New Jerusalem, and other eternal things (Rev. 21:10). Ezekiel saw things as they will be from the beginning of the Millennium into eternity; John saw things beginning with the new earth into eternity. Ezekiel saw the eternal heavenly Jerusalem. Ezekiel saw Christ and His eternal reign (Eze. 43:7); John saw God and Christ and their eternal joint reigns after the putting down of all rebellion on earth by Christ (1Cor. 15:24-28; Rev. 11:15; 20:4-10; 21:3-7; 22:5).

frame of a... This city was the earthly Jerusalem that will be built by Christ at His second coming (Eze. 45:6-7; 48:15-35).


We must remember that Ezekiel had been in Babylon. This vision is in Jerusalem, or nearby. The mountain, spoken of, is speaking, possibly, of one of the mountains in the Jerusalem area and could be Mt. Zion which is approximately 3280 feet tall.

This area is about 2000 feet above the Mediterranean Sea. It is even higher than that, above the Dead Sea, which is the lowest place on earth. The frame of the city seemed to be south of where Ezekiel was looking. An angel conducted a tour of all the details shown to the prophet, appearing in the form of a man appearing like bright, gleaming bronze.





The date was sometime in 573 b.c. The phrase “the beginning of the year” poses some problems. The Israelite religious new year began in Nisan (April-May) and was established at the time of the Exodus (Exo. 12:1-2). However, in Israel’s later history the seventh month, Tishri (October-November), became established as the first month of Israel’s civil or regnal year. So the date would be either April 28, 573 b.c. or October 22, 573 b.c. The October date was also the Day of Atonement (cf. Lev. 23:27).

On that very day… God… took Ezekiel back to Jerusalem in a vision (cf. Eze. 8:1-3). Jerusalem was then vastly different from what it was before.

Romans Chapter 11 Vs. 32

For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all. Rom 11:32



For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all] This verse concludes the same as Rom. 3:19-20, 3:23; Gal. 3:22-23.


Though not the author of sin, God allowed man to pursue his sinful inclinations so that He could receive glory by demonstrating His grace and mercy to disobedient sinners.

1Tim. 2:3-6 “For this [is] good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior;” “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” “For [there is] one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;” “Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.”

You see, not only were we heathen not keeping the law of God, but the Hebrews, who God had given the law to, were not keeping it either. In fact, the law was given as a schoolmaster to make us realize our need for a Savior.

Gal. 3:22 “But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.”




All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Rom. 3:23). “Jews and Gentiles alike are all under sin” (Rom. 3:9), so that “there is no difference” (Rom. 3:22). When the Gentiles rejected God and disobeyed Him (Rom. 1:17-21), God chose Abraham and his descendants as His special people. Now the disobedience of the Jews enables God to show mercy to the Gentiles. Then, when that purpose is achieved, He will again show mercy to Israel corporately. 

Ezekiel Chapter 40 Vs. 1

 The Hand of the Lord


In the five and twentieth year of our captivity, in the beginning of the year, in the tenth day of the month, in the fourteenth year after that the city was smitten, in the selfsame day the hand of the LORD was upon me, and brought me thither. Eze 40:1



In the five... This was about 12 years before the release of Jehoiachin (Jer. 52:31).

hand of the... This means that he was strengthened by divine power for his mission, which at the easiest point would be difficult and hard on him (Eze. 3:14, 3:22; 1:3; 8:1; 33:22; 37:1; 40:1).

On that very day God took Ezekiel back to Jerusalem in a vision (cf. Eze. 8:1-3). Jerusalem was then vastly different from what it was before. Ezekiel was led on a “tour” of the future temple which he recorded in remarkable detail. This tour was given by a man, probably an angel, whose appearance was like bronze. This is the twenty fifth year of the captivity in Babylon or 573 B.C. The 10th day was the start of preparations for Passover.



The city spoken of here, that was smitten, was of course, Jerusalem. The hand of the Lord took Ezekiel to the place of his vision.





New order for Israel

Chapters 33-39 dealt with the new life Israel will experience when she is gathered back into her land and restored to fellowship with God. The last nine chapters of the book explain how Israel’s new order will be established. A new temple will be built as a sign of God’s presence among His people (chaps. 40-43), and a new service of worship will be established so the people will have access to their God (chaps. 44-46). Then a new division of the land will be made for the people (chaps. 47-48).

A New Temple


God had promised to rebuild His sanctuary among His people (Eze. 37:26-28); chapters 44-46 give the plans for the temple to be rebuilt.

Romans Chapter 11 Vs. 31

Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy. Rom 11:31


Again, the next few verses tell of the sin of mankind. A person involved in this type sin and has not been washed in the blood of the Lamb is in serious trouble. Praise God that He is merciful and willing to forgive us.


See 1Cor. 6:9 “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,”


1Cor. 6:10 “Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”


1Cor. 6:11 “And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.”


When we receive our forgiveness, we must walk in that forgiveness, not desiring in our heart to sin again. God will extend His grace to unbelieving Israel, just as He did to unbelieving Gentiles. Salvation, whether of Jews or Gentiles, flows from God’s mercy.



God’s ultimate purpose is to have mercy on… all. To do so justly God has bound (synekleisen, “enclosed, shut in on all sides”) all men over to disobedience. “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Rom. 3:23). “Jews and Gentiles alike are all under sin” (Rom. 3:9), so that “there is no difference” (Rom. 3:22). When the Gentiles rejected God and disobeyed Him (Rom. 1:17-21), God chose Abraham and his descendants as His special people.

Temple Scripture



Beginning in chapter 40 and going through to the end of the book, and clearly a unit. They spell out the construction of a new temple and a new order of worship for Israel. Much discussion has been engendered as to the identity of the temple described in these chapters. It is a literal temple yet to be built. In favor of this view is the fact that the measurements of the temple given in these chapters do not fit any temple or tabernacle mentioned in Scripture. It therefore awaits fulfillment which can take place only in the time of Israel’s blessing and restoration during the millennial reign of Christ as given in Revelation 20:4-6.

Starting in chapter 40 to 42, we see the new temple includes the traditional outer court (40:5-27); and inner court (40:28-47); as well as the building proper (40:48 - 41:26); adjacent building (42:1-14); outer walls (42:15-20); and altar (43:13-27).

The fact that Ezekiel would spend so much space describing the temple indicates its importance. Actually, upwards of 50 chapters in the bible are devoted to descriptions of the tabernacle and various temples. In the Book of Ezekiel, the prophet shows clearly that the tragic departure of God’s glory from the temple, described in chapters 10 and 11, is reversed in the future temple when the Spirit returns (43:1-12) and fills it with glory. God is not finished with His people. They will yet see His glory.

For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief: Rom 11:30



For as ye... Rom. 11:30-31 say that as surely as the Jews were once in the kingdom and the Gentiles were not; as surely as the Gentiles are now in the kingdom and the Jews are not; so surely the Jews will be brought back to God and into the kingdom again (Zec. 12:10-13:1).

The Gentiles to whom Paul wrote were at one time disobedient to God, but in this Age of Grace Gentiles (you) have now received mercy. When Adam disobeyed (Rom. 5:19) all were constituted sinners because all humanity sinned in Adam (Rom. 5:12). (Cf. “disobedient” in Eph. 2:2; 5:6; and “disobedience” in Heb. 4:6, 4:11.) Israel (they) is now corporately disobedient to God so that when God’s mercy to the Gentiles (you) reaches its full number (Rom. 11:25), Israel will again receive mercy (cf. Rom. 11:26-27).

Ezekiel Chapter 39 Vs. 29

 The Lord Will Restore Israel




Ezekiel 39:29 "Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD."




God’s provision of His Spirit at the Second Advent complements the regathering. The last revolt at the end of the Millennium is another assault on Jerusalem patterned after certain images of the invasion here, but it is a distinct event one thousand years after the millennial kingdom begins and Satan is loosed and then sent to the lake of fire for eternity.

I believe this is the Scripture in Jeremiah that makes reference to this:

Jeremiah 31:34 "And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more."

Romans Chapter 11 Vs. 29

For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. Rom 11:29



For the gifts... This not only applies to the gifts and callings of Israel, but to any individual whom God calls or gives a gift. God does not change His mind as if He made a mistake. People may fail Him so that He cannot fulfill such callings with them, but when, if ever, they come back to repentance God holds them to the original obligation to obey Him.


We had verse 28 in our last lesson, but we needed it here to complete this statement in verse 29. All who have been called of God to do a job, can see from this Scripture above that God does not take back a call. I know a lady who is the most gifted pianist that I have ever heard. She had a little problem in the church, and many thought her usefulness to God was over. If that is true, then we must remove verse 29 above from the Bible, because it says the call or gift is without repentance. If you have been called of God to do anything, sing, play, heal, preach or anything else, God needs you now for the battle that the Christians are in.

Num. 23:19 “God [is] not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do [it]? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”

People the war has begun. The enemy (devil) has large numbers of troops. Put on your armor and fight for God.

Eph. 6:10 “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.”

Eph. 6:11 “Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”

Eph. 6:12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places].”

Eph. 6:13 “Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”

Eph. 6:14 “Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;”

Eph. 6:15 “And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;”

Eph. 6:16 “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.”

Eph. 6:17 “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:”

Eph. 6:18 “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”

Eph. 6:19 “And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,”

We are not to quit, just because the battle is thick. God calls us without repentance, and we’re to fight to the end with everything within us.

Mat. 24:13 “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.”

This is Israel’s temporary situation during her time of spiritual hardening.

Touching the election from the perspective of God’s eternal choice, Israel will always be His covenant people.

The father’s sakes the patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, who are the recipients of the Abrahamic Covenant.

We have been studying how God is merciful, more than any of us deserve. Many do not believe or understand that God still loves Israel, even after they rejected Jesus. What God does with the physical house is really none of our business. The world and everyone in it belong to Him, and He can do as He wishes without our permission. Our only concern is that we must believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord, if we intend to be saved. We must not try to figure out why this is true, just accept this as fact and go on.




And God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable (lit., “for not repented of are the grace-gifts and the calling of God”). He does not revoke what He has given or whom He has chosen (“call” means election and salvation; cf. Rom. 1:6; 8:30).

Ezekiel Chapter 39 Vs. 28

 The Lord Will Restore Israel




Ezekiel 39:28 "Then shall they know that I [am] the LORD their God, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them anymore there."




God scattered them for the sins in their lives. He brings the remnant back, because He is a merciful God. He has forgiven them.



The ultimate result of the battle with Gog will be Israel’s national repentance and spiritual restoration. This will be fulfilled in the millennial kingdom.

Romans Chapter 11 Vs. 28

As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes. Rom 11:28


As concerning the... They are enemies of the gospel, but beloved for the fathers’ sakes. They have been chosen of God to fulfill His plan and they will yet do so. The gifts and callings of God to Israelites still hold good, but they must first come to repentance and fulfill righteousness before being blessed.


This is Israel’s temporary situation during her time of spiritual hardening.

touching the election... From the perspective of God’s eternal choice, Israel will always be His covenant people.

the father’s sakes... The patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, who are the recipients of the Abrahamic Covenant.



Here Paul summarized God’s dealings with Israel and with the Gentiles. In order for God to bring the gospel to Gentiles He had to deal with Israel corporately as enemies. But in relation to God’s choice (election) of Abraham and His covenant with him and the patriarchs, Israel is beloved. Because God chose Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (cf. Rom. 9:6-13), He loves the nation and will carry through on His promises. This is another reason Israel’s hardening must be temporary (cf. Rom. 11:15, 11:22-25) and she must finally be saved corporately: God chose her.

Ezekiel Chapter 39 Vs. 27

The Lord Will Restore Israel




Ezekiel 39:27 "When I have brought them again from the people, and gathered them out of their enemies' lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations;"



again from the... The word again proves that this is the second gathering of Israel and they were gathered once before this. The first gathering was after the Babylonian captivity; the second is now taking place and it will continue until all the Israelites are finally and completely gathered or regathered at the second advent of Christ (vs. 27-29; Isa. 11:10-12).

and am sanctified... Here again God speaks of Himself as being sanctified in Israel, meaning that He is revered by them and they have set Him apart as their only true and living God-- not that He has been cleansed from sin, for He has no sin (vs. 27).

Just before this terrible war, God had brought them back from all the nations where they had been scattered. We know that in Germany, alone, about one sixth of the Jews were killed in World War 2. They were brutally rounded up, and killed unnecessarily. Isn’t it strange that 5 out of 6 during Gog and Magog will be killed?



God will… bring Jacob back from captivity and will have compassion on all the people of Israel. God will show Himself holy through them (cf. Eze. 20:41; 28:22, 28:25; 36:23; 38:16), acknowledging them as His people.

Romans Chapter 11 Vs. 27

For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. Rom 11:27


is my covenant... The New Covenant. “When I shall take away their sins” (quoted from Isa. 27:9). A necessary prerequisite for Israel’s salvation.

Jer. 31:33 “But this [shall be] the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.”

So many people I know do not want to believe that God will forgive the physical house of Israel. This is so strange to me, because we were not worthy of His forgiveness and He forgave us. Why would He not forgive His chosen family? My Bible says that every knee will bow and every tongue confess Jesus when they see Him coming in the clouds.




Following this judgment God will then remove godlessness and sins from the nation as He establishes His New Covenant with regenerate Israel (cf. Jer. 31:33-34).

Ezekiel Chapter 39 Vs. 26

 The Lord Will Restore Israel




Ezekiel 39:26 "After that they have borne their shame, and all their trespasses whereby they have trespassed against me, when they dwelt safely in their land, and none made [them] afraid."


This explains the Now of vs.25. After Israel has borne her shame and her people have reaped for all their sins, when they dwell safely in their own land, when when none will make them afraid, and when I have brought them again from all the people among whom they have been scattered (vs. 26-27), then shall they know that I am the Lord their God, which caused them to be led away captive among the heathen, and gathered them again to their own land, leaving none of them among the heathen. Neither will I hide My face from them anymore, for I have redeemed them and poured out My Spirit upon them (vs. 28-29).

Israel was brought back, when she repented of her idolatries, and returned to the One True God. They were punished for their unfaithfulness to God. They are not afraid, because they are back in good standing with God. God will take care of them, as He did in this great battle.




Eze. 39:25-29 look ahead to the end of the Tribulation when God will restore the nation from her final dispersion.

Romans Chapter 11 Vs. 26

And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: Rom 11:26


all Israel shall... This refers to the whole nation that will be alive in Palestine when Christ comes (Zec. 12:10-13:1; 14:1-15; Mat. 24:39; Isa. 66:7-8). It is at that time that all the rest of Israel will be gathered (Isa. 11:1-12; 66:19-21; Mat. 24:31). All of the elect Jewish people alive at the end of the tribulation, not the believing remnant of Jews within the church during this church age. Since the remnant has already embraced the truth of the gospel, it could not be in view here, since it no longer needs the salvation this verse promises.


There shall come... This verse and the next are Quoted from Isa. 27:9; 59:20-21.

The Lord Jesus Christ’s millennial rule will be associated with Mt. Zion.

(These next three verses show the Israelites awakening).

Zec. 12:10-11 – “I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of supplication, so that they will look on Me whom they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a firstborn. “In that day there will be great mourning in Jerusalem, like the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the plain of Megiddo.

Isa. 53:5 – But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Isa. 11:10-12 – The Root of Jesse


“And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.” “And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.”




After “the fullness of the Gentiles” (Rom. 11:25, KJV) the partial hardening of Israel will be removed and all Israel will be saved, that is, “delivered” (in the OT “saved” often means “delivered”) from the terrible Tribulation by the Messiah, the Deliverer. To confirm this, Paul quoted from Isa. 59:20-21 and Isa. 27:9. The statement, “All Israel will be saved” does not mean that every Jew living at Christ’s return will be regenerated. Many of them will not be saved, as seen by the fact that the judgment of Israel, to follow soon after the Lord’s return, will include the removal of Jewish rebels (Eze. 20:34-38).

The Lord Will Restore Israel




Ezekiel 39:25 "Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for my holy name;"


Now will I... (after Armageddon and at the 2nd advent of Christ) will I bring the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, that is, those of all the 13 tribes that have not yet been gathered from all the nations. (Eze. 39:25-29; 37:1-28; Isa. 11:10-12; Mat. 24:31).

When Jacob is mentioned, it is speaking of the 13 tribes of Israel. This is a time, when the tribes will be reunited, and Israel is forgiven of God, and accepted back as His wife.




The defeat of Gog will also hasten God’s plans to restore the other Israelites from other nations. Eze. 39:25-29 look ahead to the end of the Tribulation when God will restore the nation from her final dispersion. God will… bring Jacob back from captivity and will have compassion on all the people of Israel.
