Daniel's Rise and Fall of Empires

Daniel's Rise and Fall of Empires
Kings of the South and the North
Daniel 11:34 "Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries."
Now when they shall... The suffering that the faithful endured served to refine and purify them. This time of persecution was of short duration.
They shall be holpen... The Jews received little help in all their struggles with Antiochus Epiphanes.
Many shall cleave... Even those who had been influenced by the flattery helped those who were fallen. The things that happened immediately, prior to the coming of Messiah, are actually a shadow of things in the end time.
We might say that Epiphanes was a type of the little horn {antichrist}.

My Sheep Hear My Voice

My Sheep Hear My Voice

Before Jesus was crucified He told the disciples to watch and pray, something so simple, but they let their physical bodies take over and they fell back asleep. In these last hours of time you need to hear His voice. When He tells you something, it is very important, but most ignore my voice or just discuss it and go on with what they were doing. You will see many things start to happen shortly and if you do not hear and obey His voice,... it will mean death for some of you....Jesus has only your best interest in mind. Christ knows you heart, and if you are truly His you will hear His voice. He awakes many of you at 3am on the dot, but most will roll over and go back to sleep. There are a few who will get up and pray. Your day is filled with so many things and Jesus is the last thing many of you give your time to. But Christ needs to talk to you,... to fellowship with you and only when you are still and quite (3am) can you hear Him,... the rest of your day is so busy you do not have time for Him,... but you need to make time, for time is short and the Lord has instructions for you.

Revelation Chapter 9

The Fifth Trumpet: The First Woe

"And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit" (Rev. 9:2).
And he opened... This angel is, no doubt, the same one that binds Satan at the beginning of the Millennium in Rev. 20:1-3, here he opens the bottomless pit.
And there arose a... When the abyss is opened, smoke will come out of it “as the smoke of a great furnace” which will darken the sun and the air. It can be seen that since the darkening of one-third of the sun, moon, and stars under the fourth trumpet they may have become normal again. The physical smoke that comes up surely will obscure the sun and diminish the light. In the spiritual, it will diminish the Light, as well.

The abyss is the home of fallen angels and the demons. When the angel opens the abyss, here come the demons in force to deceive and destroy. They have such a vicious nature that God had to bind them to keep the human race from being annihilated before the appointed time, but now the restrains are off. If you have trouble believing God could ever make a hell, remember it was prepared for the devil and his angels (Matthew 25:41). Those who go to hell, are in essence choosing to spend eternity with Satan rather than with Christ.

This indicates that the abyss is a place of fire, though not the same place as Sheol/Hades, Tartarus, Gehenna, or the Lake of Fire.

Daniel's Rise and Fall of Empires

Daniel's Rise and Fall of Empires
Kings of the South and the North
Daniel 11:33 "And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, [many] days."
they that understand... Those who truly knew God instructed others one on one. Even their great faith did not save them from being killed by the sword. Those the sword did not get, the fire did. The Jews who refused to submit to Antiochus’ false religious system were persecuted and martyred for their faith.
yet they shall fall... Antiochus then came against Jerusalem and took it by storm; slew 40,000 Jews; sold many as slaves; boiled swine’s flesh and sprinkled the broth in the temple and on the altar; broke into the holy of holies; took away the golden vessels and other sacred treasures; restored Menelaus to office; and made Philip, a Phrygian, governor of Judea (1 Macc. 1:24; 2 Macc. 5:21). He also prohibited Jewish worship and consecrated the Jewish temple to Jupiter Olympius. After taking away the Jewish sacrifices in the Jewish temple, Antiochus offered a swine upon the altar and made the temple desolate of divine worship (Dan. 11:30-31; 1 Macc. 1:44-50). All this brought about the rebellion of the Jews under the Maccabees (Dan. 11:32-34).

Revelation Chapter 9

The Fifth Trumpet: The First Woe

"And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit" (Rev. 9:1).
the fifth angel sounded... And we see heaven is sending a message to earth dwellers for the next plagues to descend.
And I (John) saw a star fall... It is clear that the angel fell from heaven right there before John in vision and that indicates that he will actually fall from heaven, in the tribulation period, the very moment the fifth trumpet sounds.
This is an intelligent person, not an actual meteor or shooting star. Personal pronouns and personal acts are ascribed to him (Rev. 9:1-2). Only an intelligent being could be given a key to a material place and a command to obey, as here. Even Satan’s angels are referred to as stars (Rev. 12:3-9). There is no indication that this is a fallen angel. He will descend from heaven to open the abyss, liberating the creatures who will fulfill this vision in Rev. 9:1-21. He must be a holy and trusted angel to have the key to the pit. If a fallen one, he could liberate all the fallen creatures that are now there.
This angel is, no doubt, the same one that binds Satan at the beginning of the Millennium in Rev. 20:1-3. Christ has the keys of the underworld, Mt. 8:29; Lk. 8:31; Rev. 1:18; 20:11-15. It seems unreasonable that Christ would trust Satan or one of the fallen angels with the key which holds captive millions of Satan's own subjects, lest he would take advantage of this trust and loose all the demons of the pit in order to swell the ranks of Satan in his last stand against God before he is bound. God could not trust a fallen being with this key, seeing that they betrayed His confidence when they fell. God always gives responsibility to those whom He can trust.
Further, this angel is not the “angel of the bottomless pit” of Rev. 9:11 for if he is a trusted angel of God, as is evident, he cannot be a king of demons. It is clear that “the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon,is a fallen angel who is bound in the abyss with the demon locusts and who will come out of the pit with them as their leader in this terrible woe. In the description of locusts out of the pit the literal reading is, “they have over them a king, an angel of (out of) the abyss.”
This angel out of the pit name is given Abaddon and Apollyon, which means “destruction” and “destroyer.” These names are never used of Satan in the Bible, hence he cannot be Satan or the Antichrist as some teach. He be a fallen angel bound at the present time in the abyss. He will be loosed when the angel of Rev. 9:1 comes from heaven and opens the pit for the purpose of loosing him and his demon locusts to torment men, as stated in this verse.

Daniel's Rise and Fall of Empires

Daniel's Rise and Fall of Empires
Kings of the South and the North
Daniel 11:32 "And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do [exploits]."
such as do wickedly... Antiochus promised apostate Jews (those who… violated the covenant; cf. Dan. 11:30) great reward if they would set aside the God of Israel and worship Zeus, the god of Greece. Many in Israel were persuaded by his promises (flattery) and worshiped the false god.
The people of God shall become even stronger, because of this persecution. Some of the priests had been influenced wrongly by the flatteries.
but the people that... A small remnant remained faithful to God, refusing to engage in those abominable practices. Antiochus IV died insane in Persia in 163 b.c.
and do exploits... A reference to the exploits of the Jews under the Maccabees (Dan. 11:32-33; 1 Macc. and 2 Macc.).

Revelation Chapter 8
The Announcement

(Parenthetical, Rev. 8:13)

"And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!" (Rev. 8:13).
heard an angel... Angels can fly through the heavens even though they do not have wings (Rev. 8:13; 14:6-20).
saying with a loud voice... woe, woe, woe.

This is the 3rd parenthetical passage.
It announces 3 woes upon man at the last 3 trumpets:
1. Plague of demons out of the abyss to torment people for 5 months (Rev. 9:1-12)
2. Plague of demons out of the abyss to slay a third of mankind on earth (Rev. 9:13-21)
3. Casting out of Satan to the earth to destroy people for 3 1/2 years (Rev. 11:14-13:18)

We saw that the first four affected Material creation, the last three will affect the moral creation.
This verse being the third parenthetical message, it is an insertion of explanatory matter concerning the announcement of the three woes under the fifth, sixth, and seventh trumpets which hold such terrors that an angel will fly in the midst of heaven announcing three woes because “of the three angels, which are yet to sound!”
The last three trumpets will be especially severe, as announced by the threefold repetition of Woe, woe, woe. They will be directed toward the inhibitors of the earth, that is, the unbelievers still alive on earth. Both the oldest and the majority of Greek manuscripts read "eagle" instead of angel in the first part of the verse.
Woe, woe, woe”: One for each remaining trumpet blast. Although the first 4 trumpets are unimaginable, they will be nothing like the three to come (9:1-21; 11:15).
Thank God Christians will be spared the Wrath.
From the "woes", the wrath is about to come.
Even the problems we have already heard about are terrible, but they get even worse. Here again, notice the mid-time separation of this, four angels have sounded, and three more are about to sound. Third parenthetical message ends.

Daniel's Rise and Fall of Empires

Daniel's Rise and Fall of Empires
Kings of the South and the North
Daniel 11:31 "And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily [sacrifice], and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate."
and shall take away... In seeking to exterminate Judaism and to Hellenize the Jews, he forbade the Jews to follow their religious practices (including their festivals and circumcision), and commanded that copies of the Law be burned. Then he set up the abomination that causes desolation. In this culminating act he erected on December 16, 167 b.c. an altar to Zeus on the altar of burnt offering outside the temple, and had a pig offered on the altar. The Jews were compelled to offer a pig on the 25th of each month to celebrate Antiochus Epiphanes’ birthday. Antiochus promised apostate Jews (those who… violated the covenant; cf. Dan. 11:30) great reward if they would set aside the God of Israel and worship Zeus, the god of Greece. Many in Israel were persuaded by his promises (flattery) and worshiped the false god. However, a small remnant remained faithful to God, refusing to engage in those abominable practices. Antiochus IV died insane in Persia in 163 b.c.
