The Inner Temple
The thickness of the wall, which was for the side chamber without, was five cubits: and that which was left was the place of the side chambers that were within. Eze 41:9
was five cubits... This would be 8 feet 9 inches.
that which was... That which was left, refers to the space or walkway between the rooms and the garden space of 20 cubits before the temple wall all around (Eze. 41:10). It was a 5-cubit space in front of the chambers, perhaps a special walkway serving all the rooms (Eze. 41:9, 41:11).
The walls separating this area were 8 feet 9 inches wide.
Surrounding the temple were three levels of side rooms… one above another, 30 on each level.
