So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian. Dan. 6:28
So this Daniel... The second time the length of Daniel’s prosperity in Babylon and Medo-Persia is mentioned (Dan. 6:28; 1:21).
the reign of... Two different reigns are referred to here, proving that this Cyrus was not the same as Darius of Dan. 5:31; 6:1; 9:1, neither the Artaxerxes of Neh. 2:1, or the Ahasuerus of Est. 1:1-22, as some scholars claim.
Something intended for bad had turned into something really great. Darius elevated Daniel to the very highest position next to himself. Daniel prospered greatly under his rule.
It appears that Cyrus saw great potential in Daniel as well. Daniel prospered in his reign too. You remember the Medes and the Persians were the conquerors here.
Such a God is truly to be reverenced and worshiped. In spite of the opposition of the satraps and administrators, Daniel was honored and lived during the reigns of Darius and Cyrus.
