Ezekiel Chapter 46 Vs. 16-18

New Worship

Ezekiel 46:16-18

Another topic related to freewill gifts is the Year of Jubilee. Every 50 years property was to revert to its original owners (Lev. 25:10-13). Ezekiel posed two hypothetical cases based on the generosity of the prince to show that the Year of Jubilee will be in force during the Millennium. If the prince will give part of his estate to one of his sons, it will also belong to his descendants. Properties given to a family member will not he returned in the Year of Jubilee. However… a gift made to a servant will not be permanent; the servant may keep it until the year of freedom; then it will revert to the prince.

This explains inheritance laws governing the prince. A gift to one of his sons is permanent, but a gift to a servant last only to the year of Jubilee, the 50th year and then returns to him, v17.

Because the land will belong to God, He will apportion it to Israel as His stewards. This regulation assures that no one individual will gain permanent control of the land. The land was given by God to each of the families of Israel. It was for them, and for their generations after them. It could not be permanently sold, or given, to anyone. It is the sons' land by right of inheritance. If it is sold temporarily, it will return to the family to whom it was allotted on the year of "jubilee" {fiftieth} year.

All land was sold with that in mind. The Israelites could not sell, or give away their inheritance except to a son, who it would belong to eventually anyway.

The year of liberty means the year of Jubilee.

The princes will not be allowed to claim any land outside his allotted inheritance. In contrast with evil princes in Ezekiel’s day (Eze. 45:8-9), the prince during the Millennium will not oppress the people or take their property. The prince might tax them, but he could not take their land. Their land was a perpetual inheritance from God. We see the reason for this is, because God wants them to remain from generation to generation in the Promised Land.

As in 45:8-9, the prince is not to confiscate other’s property to enlarge his own holdings, as often occurred in Israel’s history when rulers became rich by making others poor.

Daniel Chapter 2 Vs. 46

Daniel Is Promoted

Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odours unto him. Dan. 2:46

Then the king... Sevenfold Result of the Revelation.
1. It had an overwhelming effect upon the king (Dan. 2:46).
2. It brought glory to God (Dan. 2:47).
3. It made Daniel a great man (Dan. 2:48).
4. It brought him many gifts (Dan. 2:48).
5. It made him ruler over all the province of Babylon (Dan. 2:48).
6. It made him chief of the wise men (Dan. 2:48).
7. It exalted Daniel’s three brethren (Dan. 2:49).
worshipped Daniel... There is no indication that Daniel accepted this worship (cp. Rev. 19:10; 22:8-9).

My Sheep Hear My Voice- Rev. 20:4

My Sheep Hear My Voice- Rev. 20:4

Before Jesus was crucified He told the disciples to watch and pray, something so simple, but they let their physical bodies take over and they fell back asleep. In these last hours of time you need to hear His voice. When He tells you something, it is very important, but most ignore my voice or just discuss it and go on with what they were doing. You will see many things start to happen shortly and if you do not hear and obey His voice,... it will mean death for some of you....Jesus has only your best interest in mind. Christ knows you heart, and if you are truly His you will hear His voice. He awakes many of you at 3am on the dot, but most will roll over and go back to sleep. There are a few who will get up and pray. Your day is filled with so many things and Jesus is the last thing many of you give your time to. But Christ needs to talk to you,... to fellowship with you and only when you are still and quite (3am) can you hear Him,... the rest of your day is so busy you do not have time for Him,... but you need to make time, for time is short and the Lord has instructions for you.

Revelation 20

The Millennial Reign of Christ and His Saints

“And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. Rev. 20:4

And I saw... The thrones here are those that saints will have, proving that all saints will rule with Christ in some capacity as kings and priests (Rev. 1:6; 2:26-27; 3:21; 5:10; 12:5; 20:4-6; 22:4-5; Luke 22:30; Rom. 8:17; 1Cor. 6:2-4; 2Tim. 2:12; Heb. 12:28; Psm. 149:6-9; Dan. 7:18, 7:27).

Two Classes of Eternal People

If one will keep in mind that there will be two classes of eternal people, eternal conditions on earth will be simple to comprehend.
1. Natural people will live from the future tribulation period through the Millennium and then on into the New Earth forever—if they do not commit sin or rebel with Satan at the end of the Millennium (Rev. 20:7-10; Mat. 13:39-50; 25:46).
2. Resurrected people who have part in the first resurrection will be the eternal rulers of the eternal generations of natural people (Rev. 20:4). The resurrected people will not marry or give in marriage (Mat. 22:30); but the natural people who are alive at the second coming and who are permitted to be subjects of the eternal kingdom will marry, have children, and carry out the natural program as God intended when He created Adam. They will live forever by virtue of the tree of life (Rev. 22:1-2), not by virtue of a resurrection and a change from mortality to immortality as with glorified saints (1Cor. 15:51-58; Phlp. 3:21).
beheaded for the... Six reasons for their beheading:

1. For the witness (testimony) of Jesus
2. For the Word of God
3. For not worshiping the beast
4. For not worshiping his image
5. For not taking his mark upon their foreheads
6. For not taking his mark in their hands
They (the tribulation saints) lived (were resurrected) and reigned with Christ 1,000 years.
Thrones, and they... Represent the administration of the messianic kingdom. Those whom John sees come to life are the Tribulation martyrs, who refused to worship the “beast”. They will rule the earth “with Christ” for “a thousand years”. Christ will rule through three classes of kingdom administrators:
(1) Old Testament saints (compare Isa. 26:19; Dan. 12:2), who will be resurrected at this time;
(2) The apostles and the church (compare Matt. 19:28-29);
(3) Tribulation saints (compare Luke 19:12-27).
Only believers will enter the Millennium at its beginning (compare John 3:3, 5). God’s promises to Abraham (Gen. 12:2-3), and David (2 Sam. 7:16), will be fulfilled (compare Luke 1:31-33; Rom. 11:15, 29). After the Millennium, Christ will deliver the kingdom to God the Father and will then be appointed Ruler forever (compare 1 Cor. 15:24-28).
the souls of... These are tribulation martyrs (compare 6:9; 18:24; 19:2). The Greek word translated “beheaded” became a general term for execution, not necessarily a particular method of punishment.
received his mark... (see 13:16). Tribulation martyrs will be executed for refusing the mark of the beast.
reigned with Christ... Tribulation believers, along with the redeemed from both the Old Testament and New Testament times, will reign with Christ (1 Cor. 6:2; 2 Tim. 2:12), during the 1000 year kingdom.
Many of the writers do not believe that this thousand years is a literal time. I personally do. They believe that this is spiritual, and that Jesus bound the devil when He defeated him on the cross. If that were so, who is this terrible thing that has been nipping at my heels all the time that I have been working for God. The devil is real. Just as he brought trials and tribulation (with permission from God), on Job, Christians are allowed to go through trials and tribulations here on this earth to make them strong. Believe me; the devil is not locked up now.
In the scripture above, we find that the martyrs and those who refuse to take the mark of the beast will reign with Christ right here on this earth. Christians, from all generations, will live here on this earth during the millennium and will rule and reign with the Lord Jesus. We will rule with Christ during those years but we will not be equal as we will reign as His subordinates. Won't it be wonderful to reign with the martyrs like Stephen?
This 1000 year Millennial reign of Jesus Christ here on this earth, I believe, has to be 1000 years. Mankind has worked six 1000 year days since Adam, and this will be the one “1000” year day of rest (sabbath). God set this universe up on six days of work, one day of rest. The land was set to work six years and one year of rest. Jesus hung on the cross six hours to complete his work. This will be a literal 1000 year of rest to conform to this pattern that God set up.

The Resurrection And Reward Of The Martyrs (Rev. 20:4-6)

Next in the series of revelations John recorded that he saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. In addition he saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their standing true to the Lord and His Word in the Great Tribulation. The fact that John could see them implies that they had received intermediate bodies in heaven and were awaiting their resurrections.
A distinction should be made between what John saw and what he received as revelation. Though he could see the souls, he was informed that they had been beheaded because they had refused to worship the beast or his image and would not receive his mark. What John saw was not all the souls in heaven but a particular generation of martyred dead who had been contemporaneous with the world ruler, the beast out of the sea (Rev. 13:1). If the church were raptured prior to this event, as premillenarians teach, it would make sense to single out these martyred dead for resurrection. But if the church were not raptured, it would be most unusual to ignore all the martyrs of preceding generations, the church as a whole, and to specify this relatively small group.
John apparently was not told the identity of the individuals seated on the thrones. They evidently do not include the martyred dead themselves. Christ had predicted (Luke 22:29-30) that the 12 disciples would “eat and drink at My table in My kingdom and sit on thrones, judging the 12 tribes of Israel.” As the disciples are also a part of the church, the body of Christ, it would be natural for them to sit on these thrones.
According to the Scriptures a series of judgments is related to Christ’s return. The beast and the false prophet will be cast into the fiery lake (Rev. 19:20), Satan will be cast into the Abyss (Rev. 20:1-3), and then the martyred dead of the Great Tribulation will be judged and rewarded (Rev. 20:4). In addition, Israel will be judged (Eze. 20:33-38), and the Gentiles will be judged (Mat. 25:31-46). These judgments precede and lead up to the millennial kingdom.

John stated that these martyred dead came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. Their coming to life suggests that they will be given resurrected bodies. In addition to receiving the visual revelation, John was informed as to the meaning and character of the judgment that was here taking place.

Ezekiel Chapter 46 Vs. 11-15

New Worship

Ezekiel 46:11-15

This "ephah" is 3 pecks of flour for each bullock. He matches the amount of bread to the meat.
If the prince desires to make a freewill offering to the Lord… the gate facing east is to be opened for him. The regulation concerning the closing of the east gate to the inner court (cf. Eze. 46:1) will be suspended for this special offering. But after the prince leaves, the gate is to be closed again.
This offering is not an offering of obligation, but from the free will of the prince. We notice the gate will be open to him for this offering, as well. After he leaves, after making the offering, the gate shall be shut, until another day of offerings come.
This gate will not be open until the evening, but just long enough for him to sacrifice. Immediately after he leaves, it is shut up. This symbolizes the eating of the Word of God every day. For a person to live a godly life, they must continually feast upon His Word. This is, also, speaking of an offering being made every day, because the priests feed upon the offerings. The strange thing about the offerings from God through Ezekiel, here, is that there is no evening sacrifice. This is, possibly, speaking to the whole of the people and not just to the prince.
The testimony of the Old Testament is that to remove the continual burnt offering meant an abolition of public worship, Dan. 8-11-13; 11:31; 12:11.
This offering is bread, to go along with the meat of the other offering. The bread was to never cease from the temple.

As long as there is a temple, these offerings were not to cease. I personally believe God allowed the temple to be destroyed a few years after the crucifixion of Jesus, to cause them to stop sacrificing. Jesus fulfilled all the sacrifices and the law with his body on the cross.

Then Ezekiel mentioned the morning sacrifice, but not the evening sacrifice (cf. Exo. 29:38-41).
This omission could be explained by the fact that he was giving only the highlights of the sacrificial system. So by listing the morning sacrifices he may have assumed that his readers would apply the same regulations to the evening sacrifice.

The Image Interpreted

Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure. Dan. 2:45

the stone was... The stone is a symbol of the kingdom of the God of heaven headed by Christ at His second coming (Dan. 7:9-14, 7:18, 7:27; Isa. 9:6-7; Zec. 14:1-21; Luke 1:31-33; Rev. 11:15; 19:11-21; 20:1-10).
what shall come... These are the events that shall come to pass from Nebuchadnezzar’s day into eternity when the God of heaven reigns on earth (Dan. 2:38-45; Isa. 66:22-24; 1Co. 15:24-28; Rev. 21-22).

Revelation 20

The Expulsion of Satan from the Earth

And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season” Rev. 20:3

the bottomless pit... Greek: abussos, bottomless; unfathomed; enormous; abyss; unbounded; immeasurable depth. Translated "bottomless pit" (Rev. 20:1, 20:3; 9:1-2, 9:11; 11:7; 17:8) and deep (Luke 8:31; Rom. 10:7). All 7 times that this appears in Revelation, it refers to the place where fallen angels and evil spirits are kept captive, waiting to be sent to the lake of fire, the final hell prepared for them (Matt. 25:41).

shut him up... Six things an angel will do to Satan (Rev. 20:2-3):
1. Lay hold on him (note, Rev. 20:2).
2. Bind him with a literal chain.
3. Cast him into the abyss.
4. Shut him up in prison.
5. Set a seal upon him for 1,000 years.
6. Loose him for a little season.
set a seal... Sealed the abyss over him to keep him there so he could not deceive the nations for 1,000 years.
a little season... If the little season here is the same as the short time (Rev. 12:12) and the short space (Rev. 17:10), it will be only 3 1/2 years (Rev. 12:12-14; 13:5). Satan will be released so God can make a permanent end of sin before establishing the new heaven and earth. All who survive the Tribulation and enter the kingdom will be believers. However, despite that and the personal presence and rule of the Lord Jesus Christ, many of their descendants will refuse to believe in Him. Satan will then gather those unbelievers for one final, futile rebellion against God. It will be quickly and decisively crushed, followed by the Great White Throne Judgment and the establishment of the eternal state.
At the end of the 1000 years, Satan will once again be released to deceive the nations. He will find many unsaved descendants of those who lived through the millennium. There will be a very large number as we are told in verse eight as they will be like the sand of the seashore or a vast uncountable multitude.
Satan's deceptive way of getting those sinners to revolt against God is not revealed, but it will fit into God's plan when He destroys those rebels. These rebels will come from the four corners of the earth and this is also known as Gog and Magog. The first mention of Gog and Magog was in Ezek. Chapters 38 and 39 (which I suggest reading), and is mentioned here (in verse eight).

This interpretation is also supported by the final statement that after the thousand years, he must be set free for a short time (Rev. 20:3). Here expositors again are at a loss to explain this except in a literal way, making possible a final satanic rebellion at the end of the millennial kingdom.

Again this passage is a continuation of the Scripture on the Batttle of Armageddon of Rev. 19:11-21 and shows the confinement of the dragon in the abyss. After Armageddon an angel will come down from heaven having the key to the abyss. This angel is explained under the fifth trumpet in Rev. 9:1-12, and the abyss is explained in Rev. 11:7; 17:7,8. Just as other spirits are there now, so will Satan be confined there for a thousand years. How an angel or a spirit can be bound by a literal chain and be cast into a material place is only understandable when we see that angels have bodies and can be localized and confined to material places. As we have seen in the passages under the fifth and sixth trumpets demons bound in the abyss will be loosed for their purpose. How angels can be confined to Tartarus in chains (2 Pet. 2:4; Jude 6-7) and how all wicked men, demons, fallen angels, and rebellious creatures of all kinds can be confined in the Lake of Fire forever can be understood only on this basis, Mt. 25:41; Rev. 14:9-11; 19:20; 20:10-15.

This angel will "lay hold" on Satan, overpower him by actual combat, "bind him" with a great chain, cast him into the abyss where he is to be for a 1,000 years and "set a seal upon him," or literally, seal the abyss over him to keep him here so that he cannot deceive the nations until the Millennium is over. Thus we see that Satan is literal, his doom is literal, he is bound by a literal angel, with a literal chain, cast into a literal place, and sealed with a literal seal for the period of the Millennium.

In Rev. 12 we have seen that the dragon and his angels will be cast out of heaven to the earth in the middle of the Week, where they will remain until the Battle of Armageddon when they will fight against Christ and His angels and saints. It is not stated whether Satan's angels will be cast into the abyss with him or not. It may be that they will be confined there and loosed with him after the Millennium to help him deceive the nations again.

Ezekiel Chapter 46 Vs. 1-10

New Worship

Ezekiel 46:1-10

After speaking of selected feasts in Israel’s religious year, Ezekiel provided information on the daily aspects of Israel’s worship. He gave regulations for the Sabbath and New Moon sacrifices (Eze_46:1-10) and for the conduct and offerings of the people in the temple (Eze. 46:11-15).

The east gate from the outer court to the inner court will be closed six days of the week, but on the Sabbath Day and on the day of the New Moon it is to be opened. Shutting the gate six days seems to serve the purpose of giving special distinction to the Sabbath and new Moon, when it is open and in use. Israel largely failed and was judged in ancient times in regard to these days. The Sabbath will be reinstated for a restored and regenerated Israel.

Note here that modern day Sabbatarians fail to realize that the Sabbath consisted of far more than just rest from labor, but included specific sacrifices. It is inconsistent to take one part of the Sabbath observance and discard the others.

The prince will be allowed to stand at the gatepost of the east gate during these days as the sacrifice he brought on behalf of the people will be offered (cf. Eze. 44:3). He will also provide the sacrifices for the people on the Sabbaths and New Moons as well as on the major feast days. It appears that the prince {whoever he is} stands in the gate, and ministers to the people at that gate, while the priest is preparing the sacrifice.

He appears 5 times in this chapter in verses 2, 4, 8, 10 and 12. In regard to sacrifices, he is to be an example of spiritual integrity to the people, v.10.

It appears he would come to this gate, because there are people here to talk to. We would, probably, call what he is doing, preaching. His worship could consist of prayer, as well as preaching. This gate will be opened the entire day of Sabbath. Their Sabbath is from 6 o'clock in the evening on Friday until 6'oclock Saturday evening. Their day begins in the evening, as was spoken of in Genesis. An evening and a morning make up a day.

Vs. 4 Burnt Offerings: This again, is different to the Mosaic Law. The Mosaic Law required two yearling lambs. Vs. 5 the meat offering had been the makings for bread. Six symbolizes mankind, whether that has anything to do with this, I cannot tell.
They did retain, in all these offerings, the fact that the sacrifice should be without blemish. This was because all of the sacrifices, in one way or another symbolizes the great sacrifice Jesus made for all of mankind.
Vs. 6 this sacrifice is in addition to what we have been reading about. This, also, varies slightly from the Mosaic Law.
Israel’s calendar was lunar, so the feasts were reckoned according to the phases of the moon.
Vs. 7 the offering of the amount the "hand" can attain does not mean what a man can pick up in his hand, but means the amount he has earned, and can afford.
He “Prince” does not normally use the eastern gate itself, which is for the Lord. Rather, he enters and exits by the gate’s vestibule. However, v.12 permits his use of the gate for free will offerings.

The worshipers at the temple are given regulations to aid in their orderly assembly before the Lord. We see, now, that many people would be congregated at this gate. This would be a very good place for someone to preach. There is no entrance to the temple on the west, and the east gate will be permanently shut (cf. Eze. 44:1-2). Thus access into the temple will be from the north and the south.
To avoid confusion the worshipers will be directed through the temple according to predesignated routes so that whoever enters by the north gate to worship is to go out the south gate; and whoever enters by the south gate is to go out the north gate. God is a God of order, and He wants orderliness to prevail in worship.
It appears, this prince will lead them into the area of worship. He sets the example of worship for the people.

Daniel Chapter 2 Vs. 44

The Image Interpreted

And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. Dan. 2:44

in the days... In the days of the ten kings symbolized by the ten toes on the image (Dan. 2:41-45) and the ten horns on the beasts of Dan. 7:7-8, 7:23-24; Rev. 13:1-18; 17:12-17, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom on earth that shall never be destroyed. It will break in pieces and consume or take over all the ten kingdoms and shall stand forever (Dan. 2:44; Zec. 14:1-21; Rev. 19:11-21; 20:1-10). This proves that the ten kings are yet future and could not have been ten barbarous tribes which overran the old Roman Empire in the fourth and fifth centuries after Christ.
It will be noticed in the headings of the text in Dan. 2:41 and Dan. 2:44, one kingdom is the seventh and the kingdom of God is the ninth. There is no eighth kingdom mentioned in Dan. 2:1-49, but there is in Dan. 7:23-24; Rev. 17:9-11. Here Daniel does not see a little toe coming out of the ten toes, plucking out three of the others by the roots; but in Dan. 7:7-8, 7:19-24 there is a little horn coming out of the ten horns, and after them. He gets power over them by conquering three of them and by the others of the ten kings then submitting to him without further war. This is the same as Rev. 17:9-17. The ten kings give their power to the beast whose kingdom becomes the eighth kingdom. The seventh kingdom is that of the ten kingdoms being independent as separate kingdoms; the eighth is made up of the same ten kingdoms, only they are no longer independent. They continue under the beast for 42 months as subject kingdoms (Rev. 13:1-8; 17:9-17).

Revelation 20

The Expulsion of Satan from the Earth

And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, Rev. 20:2

he laid hold... Greek: krateo, to be strong and mighty; to rule; hold sway; to lay hold of; become master of; subdue. Translated "lay hold upon" (Rev. 20:2; Mat. 12:11; 14:3; 26:55-57; Mar. 3:21; 6:17; 12:12; 14:51; Heb. 6:18); "lay hands on" (Mat. 18:28; 21:46); "hold fast" (Mat. 26:48; Heb. 4:14; Rev. 2:13, 2:25; 3:11); "obtain" (Acts 27:13); "take" (Mat. 22:6; 26:4, 26:50; Mar. 14:1, 14:44-49; Acts 24:6); "take by" (Mat. 9:25; Mar. 1:31; 5:41; 9:27; Luke 8:54); "hold by" (Mat. 28:9); "keep" (Mar. 9:10); "retain" (John 20:23); and "hold" (Mar. 7:3-8; Luke 24:16; Acts 2:24; 3:11; Col. 2:19; 2Th. 2:15; Rev. 2:1, 2:14-15; 7:1). This proves that angels can actually lay hold of the bodies of each other and can be confined to material places in material chains and with doors and locks (Rev. 20:2; 9:1, 9:14; 12:7-12; 2Pet. 2:4; Jude 1:6-7; Isa. 24:22-23). They can also take hold of the bodies of people (Gen. 19:10, 19:16; 32:24-32). This includes not only Satan; but the demons as well. Their imprisonment will dramatically alter the world during the kingdom, since their destructive influence in all areas of human thought and life will be removed.

On the dragon... Likening Satan to a dragon emphasizes his ferocity, and cruelty.
Here we see the devil spoken of as the dragon which we read about in a previous lesson (see 12:3). We also see him recognized as the serpent. You see, he was the one who deceived Eve in the garden (Gen. 3:1; compare 2 Cor. 11:3; 1 Tim. 2:14).
The devil will not be here on the earth to harass the Christians until the millennial 1000 year reign of Jesus is over.
When he bound the devil for the 1000 years, the angel put him in the abyss, not in the burning hell. This burning hell was reserved for his final punishment.
a thousand years... This is the first of 6 references to the length of the millennial kingdom (compare verses 3-7).

The angel grabbed Satan, the dragon (cf. Rev. 12:3-4, 12:7, 12:9, 12:13, 12:16-17; 13:2, 13:4, 13:11; 16:13), that ancient serpent (Rev. 12:9, 12:14-15), bound him, and threw him into the Abyss, and locked it, in order to prevent Satan’s work of deceiving the nations any more for a thousand years.

This same power of Satan is further revealed in the Great Tribulation when he empowers the world ruler (Rev. 13:4). Satan will have been cast out of heaven at the beginning of the Great Tribulation and will then be more active than ever (Rev. 12:9, 12:13, 12:15, 12:17).

If Satan is actually deceiving the nations today, as the Scriptures and the facts of history indicate, then he is not now locked in the Abyss, and the thousand-year Millennium is still future.

Ezekiel Chapter 45 Vs. 18-25

The Offerings

Ezekiel 45:18-25

The festivals where the offerings will be given will include the New Year feast (Eze. 45:18-20), the Passover/Unleavened Bread feast (Eze. 45:21-24), and the seven-day Feast of Tabernacles (Eze. 45:25). The New Year’s Day celebration, on Nisan 1 (mid-April), will be to purify the sanctuary (Eze. 45:18). It is the blood from the bullock that would be used to cleanse the sanctuary. The month we call April, would be about their first month. Their first month is Abib. Their months change with the moon. Notice, the bullock must be without blemish, because it is a type of the sacrifice Jesus made for us all. This is cleansing the entire court. The altar, itself, must be cleansed before any offering could be made on it.

The Day of Atonement is never mentioned, but God institutes a never before celebrated festival to start the “new year” with an emphasis on holiness in the temple. The feast appears to last 7 days, v.20. It indicates that there will be sin in the kingdom, committed by those who entered alive (born into the millennium) and their offspring.
If someone sins unintentionally, a second purification will be offered on the seventh day of the month (Eze. 45:20). "Those that err" are speaking of those who have committed sin. The "simple" are speaking of the simple minded who do not even know when they do sin. This offering and ceremonial cleansing possibly will replace the Day of Atonement (in the seventh month, Lev. 23:26-32).

This time of cleansing will be followed by the celebration of the Passover (Eze. 45:21-24)/Unleavened Bread festival. The Passover will last seven days, during which the people will eat bread made without yeast. Passover and Unleavened bread are combined as in the New Testament and focus on remembering God’s deliverance of the nation from Egypt and Christ’s death providing deliverance from sin. They continue on into the Millennium as a weeklong feast of remembrance, which will serve much the same purpose then as the bread and cup do now.

The 3 annual pilgrimage feasts with required attendance under Mosaic legislation were: (1) Unleavened Bread, (2) Pentecost, and (3) Tabernacles. They have been modified with the 3 in 45:18-25. Pentecost is replaced by the new feast of verses 18-20. There are also portion differences from the Mosaic Law, plus the millennial offerings are richer and more abundant, in general. This is not the same as the offerings in the Levitical law. The requirement had been 2 bullocks, and one ram, and seven yearling lambs. This required 7 each day. It, also, required a kid of the goats daily.

The prince will provide the sacrifices for that period (Eze. 45:22-24). The fact that the prince is to make a sin offering for himself shows that he is not Christ.
Why did Ezekiel omit Israel’s other national feasts, the Feast of Pentecost, the Feast of Trumpets, and the Day of Atonement? Two explanations may be given. First, he may have been signaling a change in God’s program for Israel. The inauguration of the New Covenant and the fulfillment of Israel’s kingdom promises may render those three feasts unnecessary.
Thus only three of the six annual feasts under the Levitical system (cf. Lev. 23:4-44) will be followed: two feasts celebrating national cleansing Passover and Unleavened Bread combined as one feast; which will point back to Christ’s death, and the Feast of Tabernacles that will symbolize Israel’s new position in God’s millennial kingdom. We must remember that the meat offering is really the makings for bread. This symbolizes Jesus, who is the Bread of life.
A “hin” is about one gallon.
Second, perhaps Ezekiel employed a figure of speech known as merism to include all the feasts. By naming the first two feasts in Israel’s festal calendar (Passover and Unleavened Bread) and the last one (Tabernacles), maybe he implied that all Israel’s feasts would be reinstituted.
The third feast will begin in the seventh month on the 15th day. This is the Festival of Tabernacles, also a seven-day celebration (Lev. 23:33-44), the last feast in Israel’s yearly calendar. This same ceremony is to be repeated in the seventh month on the 15th day. This celebration, also, will last 7 days. We must remember in this that Ezekiel had been instructed of God to bring this message. He would not, of his own will change anything in the Mosaic Law.

The Feast of Tabernacles continues on into the Millennium as confirmed by Zechariah 14:16-21. This would be a remembrance of God’s sustaining provision in the wilderness. The seventh month, Tishri, would be in Sep. / Oct. and this feast will last for one week, as do the previous two. The prince (”he” v.25) once again offers sacrifice.

Daniel Chapter 2 Vs. 43

The Image Interpreted

And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. Dan 2:43

they shall mingle... The kings represented by the ten toes will seek to mingle themselves with the seed of men; that is, they will seek to be popular with their subjects and rule more or less by their wishes. The result will be that the clay will be broken up, the iron becoming predominant. Absolute monarchs will finally emerge from this mixture and they will be true kings in deed and not in word, having power to act as individuals. They will give their power to the beast after three of them are defeated (Dan. 7:23-24; Rev. 17:12-17).

My Sheep Hear My Voice- Rev. 20:1

My Sheep Hear My Voice- Rev. 20:1

The Second Coming of Christ

Revelation 20

The Millennium – The Thousand Years and After

In Rev. 20:1-15 we have the expulsion of Satan from the earth, the Millennial reign of Christ and His saints, Satan's post-Millennial career and doom, and the final judgment.

The Expulsion of Satan from the Earth

And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. Rev. 20:1

And I saw... This "angel" is not Jesus Himself but is a ministering spirit that Jesus has given authority to. This angel comes from heaven (near the throne).

having the key... We can assume from this that Jesus has turned the key to the bottomless pit over to this specific angel and has given him power and authority for this job.

the bottomless pit... The place where demons are incarcerated pending their final sentencing to the lake of fire (see 9:1; 2 Pet. 2:4).

and a great... This "great chain" in this angel's hand, shows the power God has given him over the devil for this task, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended.

The Binding Of Satan (Rev. 20:1-3)

Rev. 20:1-15 begins with the familiar phrase, And I saw an angel (cf. Rev. 7:2; 8:2; 10:1; 14:6; 18:1; 19:17). The “and” with which this chapter begins suggests that it continues the sequence of events begun in Rev. 19:1, which is introduced with the words “after this.” In Rev. 19:1-21 the Greek has “and” at the beginnings of 15 verses (but it is omitted in the NIV in Rev. 19:4; 19:8; 19:10-11; 19:13-16, and Rev. 19:21 and is trans. “then” in Rev. 19:5-6; 19:9, and Rev. 19:19 and “but” in Rev. 19:20). The use of the word “and” (kai) often indicates action that follows in logical and/or chronological sequence. Accordingly there is no reason why Rev. 20:1-15 should not be considered as describing events which follow Rev. 19:1-21. “And” (kai) continues throughout Rev. 20:1-15, beginning each verse except Rev. 20:5. There is thus no linguistic or grammatical suggestion that these events are anything other than events following the second coming of Christ and occurring in sequence.
In addition to the grammar which connects these incidents, there is also the causal connection of the events which follow naturally from the fact that Christ will have returned to the earth. In Rev. 19:1-21 these events include casting the beast and the false prophet into the lake of burning sulfur and destroying their armies. Having disposed of the world ruler and the false prophet as well as the armies, it would be only natural that Christ should then turn to Satan himself, as He does in Rev. 20:1-15.

Accordingly John saw an angel descend from heaven holding the key to the Abyss and a great chain.

Ezekiel Chapter 45 Vs. 13-17

The Offerings

Ezekiel 45:13-17

Having chastised the princes of Israel for using unjust weights, Ezekiel returned to discussing the Millennium, in which the future prince will use just weights to receive and offer gifts to God (Eze. 45:13-17). Verses 13-17 are the offerings for Israel’s prince, v.15. Because of what the people will give him, he will provide for public sacrifices, v.17.This mention of offerings caused Ezekiel to describe briefly the future sacrificial system (45:18-46:24) before returning to the subject of the division of the land.

Ezekiel listed specific amounts of produce the people will give the prince (David; Eze. 34:24). The prescribed portion is to be proportionate to each individual’s wealth or lack of it. They are each to give a 60th of their wheat and… barley (Eze. 45:13), one percent of their olive oil (Eze. 45:14), and 1 sheep… from every… 200 of their flocks (Eze. 45:15). This tithe or tax will be required of all the people for use by the prince in Israel.

As we discussed in 44:3, this “prince” is not the Messiah. There we said that most likely “the prince” is not the king, but rather one who administrates the kingdom, representing the King, the Lord Jesus Christ on one hand, and also the princes who individually lead the 12 tribes. Possibly he will be a descendant of David.

As the people’s representative, he will collect their gifts and use them to maintain the temple sacrifices, including burnt offerings, grain offerings, and drink offerings at the festivals, the New Moons, and the Sabbaths. We may assume from this, that the prince is head of the government, while still holding a ministerial office in the church. It is almost as if church and state are working together. It would not be unusual for that to be the case in Israel. For many years, they did not have a king. Their first king was Saul.

The annual feasts for the nations are outlined in verses 18-25. The millennial feasts include 3 of the 6 Levitical feasts: Passover, Unleavened Bread and Tabernacles. Three Levitical feasts are not celebrated:

Pentecost, (the feast celebrating the promised descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles)

Trumpets (This festival is a particularly joyous occasion, as it celebrates the marriage of the Lamb ((Christ)) to the Church ((the ascended saints)) – having been resurrected at Pentecost as spirit beings into the family of God). However, there is a much deeper meaning to the Feast of Trumpets, which goes to explain the reason why the Day is commanded to be a memorial (Lev 23:24).

This festival, the Feast of Trumpets, is a memorial of the foundation of God's plan of creation. This is a living, dynamic foundation and is at the heart of the whole plan of creation as well as being its beginning and its future.)

And Atonement (Jesus died so that humanity may, upon repentance and baptism, be reconciled to the Father) – symbolized by the goat sacrifice (Lev 15:16. It symbolizes the offer of redemption spelling out what Christ has done for humanity).

Most likely they are excluded because what they had looked forward to prophetically have been fulfilled at this point and now serve no significant remembrance purpose such as Passover and Tabernacle would continue to provide.

And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. Dan. 2:42

were part of iron... Aramaic, min, a portion; or some of them, indicating that some of the ten kingdoms would be strong as iron (the kings being absolute in power), while part of them would be weak (the kings being swayed by the popular will of their subjects). This condition of strength and weakness will not last even as mud cannot mix with iron (Dan. 2:42-43).

partly broken... Aramaic, tebar, fragile; easily broken.

The Second Coming of Christ

    The Supper Eaten
And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: And all the fowls were filled with their flesh Rev. 19:21
slain with the... Ten ways Antichrist’s armies destroyed:
    1. By brightness of Christ’s coming (2Th. 2:8-9)
    2. By angels (2Th. 1:7-10)
    3. Saints (Rev. 19:14; Jude 1:14; Zec. 14:5)
    4. Cloudburst (Eze. 38:22)
    5. Great hailstones (Rev. 16:21; Eze. 38:22)
    6. Fire and brimstone (Eze. 38:22)
    7. Pestilence and blood (Eze. 38:22)
    8. Jewish army (Zec. 14:14)
    9. Self-destruction (Zec. 14:13)
    10. Christ’s sword (Rev. 19:15, 19:21; Isa. 11:4)
    fowls were filled... Rev. 19:17-18; Mat. 24:28; Luke 17:37; Eze. 39:4, 39:17-21.
Then all of the rest who were with the Antichrist and the false prophet will then be destroyed and the rest of those gathered to fight against Christ.
Sword... (see verse 15; compare Zech. 14:1-13).
Then suddenly it will be all over. Actually, there will not be any war at all as we think of war. There will be just a word spoken from the Rider who sits on the white horse. That's the same One who spoke the heavens and the earth into existence at the very beginning. The One who spoke to a fig tree and it withered away. Who spoke to the howling winds and heaving waves and the storm clouds vanished and the waves were stilled. Who spoke to a legion of demons in a man and instantly they fled.
Now by His Word, the Beast is stricken where he stands. The false prophet windbag from the pit is stilled. Then they're hurled into the everlasting flames. Then another Word and all of the panic-stricken armies’ stagger and fall down dead.
fowls were filled... All remaining sinners in the world will have been executed, and the birds will gorge themselves on their corpses. All the birds ate and were filled with the flesh of those who were killed.
The rest of the unredeemed throughout the world will be judged at the sheep and goat judgment which takes place at this time (see Matthew 25:32-46.
This is not just defeat, but is physical death for those who followed the beast and the false prophet. The Word of God defeated them. They actually die in the battle of Armageddon by the Words of Christ and not by an easy death as scripture tells us that the blood in that valley ran up to the horse’s bridles, about 4 to 5 feet deep for the entire length of the 200 mile valley.
The armies themselves will be killed by Christ’s sword (Rev. 19:21; cf. Rev. 1:16; 2:12, 2:16; 19:15). The number of dead will be so great that the vultures will have more than they can eat. The defeat of the earth’s wicked will then be complete, and will be finalized as later judgments search out the unsaved in other parts of the earth and also kill them (cf. Mat. 25:31-45).

The same inspired Word of God which so wonderfully describes the grace of God and the salvation which is available to all who believe is equally plain about the judgment of all who reject the grace of God. The tendency of liberal interpreters of the Bible to emphasize passages dealing with the love of God and to ignore passages dealing with His righteous judgment is completely unjustified. The passages on judgment are just as inspired and accurate as those which develop the doctrines of grace and salvation. The Bible is clear that judgment awaits the wicked, and the second coming of Christ is the occasion for a worldwide judgment unparalleled in Scripture since the time of Noah’s flood.
