Daniel Chapter 9 Vs. 10

Daniel's Prayer for His People

Daniel 9:10 "Neither have we obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets."

obeyed the voice... One thing that set the Hebrews aside as being different is they had the law of God.

to walk in... God had promised to bless them mightily, if they kept His law. If they did not keep His law, there would be curses.

servants the prophets... The despised prophets were recognized by Israel after they had suffered and many of their predictions had been fulfilled (2Ki. 17:13; Isa. 44:26; Lam. 2:17; Zec. 1:16; Heb. 1:1-2).

God had sent prophet after prophet to warn them, they were not keeping His law. Daniel is admitting to God, they had not kept the law.

God’s discipline did not mean that He had withheld mercy (cf. Dan. 9:18) and forgiveness from His people, but it meant that He, being righteous, must punish people’s rebellion and disobedience (Dan. 9:10). They refused to keep God’s laws.
