Daniel's Prayer for His People
Daniel 9:11 "Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that [is] written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him."
all Israel have... The term "all Israel" here and in the majority of places refers to all the tribes of Israel, not excluding Judah, as some teach today.
the curse is... The curse God promised that would come upon them if they rebelled (Lev. 26:14-17, 26:29-39; Deut. 27:15-26; 28:15-62; 29:20; 31:17).
law of Moses... They transgressed the law and followed false gods. Daniel is aware the captivity came to cause them to repent of their sins, and turn back to God. God had given His Word. He had sworn by Himself that He would bless them, if they kept the law, and curse them, if they did not keep the law.
They refused to keep God’s laws (Dan. 9:10; cf. 9:5) for they transgressed His Law (Dan. 9:11) and turned from God (cf. Dan. 9:5), being obstinate in their disobedience (refusing to obey).
