Romans Chapter 15 Vs. 17

 

Paul the Minister to the Gentiles

I have therefore whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which pertain to God. Rom 15:17

through Jesus Christ... Ten things through Jesus Christ:

1. Peace (Rom. 5:1)

2. Life (Rom. 6:11)

3. Eternal life (Rom. 6:23)

4. Thanks for salvation (Rom. 7:25)

5. Boasting (Rom. 15:17)

6. Victory (1Cor. 15:57)

7. Heir-ship (Gal. 4:7)

8. Keeping (Phlp. 4:7)

9. God glorified (1Pet. 4:11)

10. Salvation (2Pet. 2:20)

Paul is saying in this Scripture that his glory is in Jesus. In the 11th chapter of 1 Corinthians, Paul goes to great extremes to show the suffering he has gone through for Christ. He is quick to say that the only glory he has, or we have, is in Christ.

Paul never boasted of his accomplishments as an apostle, but only in what Christ had accomplished through him.

As a result of his special ministry by God’s grace to the Gentiles, Paul affirmed, Therefore I glory (lit., “I have boasting”) in Christ Jesus in my service to God (lit., “in the things relating to God”).
