The Ancient of Days Reigns
I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame. Dan. 7:11
I beheld then... Four Things Concerning Antichrist
1. He will speak great words (Dan. 7:8, 7:11, 7:20, 7:25; 8:23-25; 11:36; Rev. 13:5).
2. He will be slain (Dan. 7:11; 8:25; 11:45; Isa. 11:4; 2Th. 2:8; Rev. 19:20). To be slain at the second coming, he will need to be a mortal man of the last days—one who will die for the first and last time his own appointed death (Heb. 9:27). He therefore will not be some historical man who has died and been resurrected as an immortal man and an incarnation of Satan, as some believe. This is a reference to the fourth beast (i.e. the Roman sphere), headed up by the “little horn” or Antichrist. He will be destroyed at Christ’s second coming.
The above is a companion Scripture to the following.
Revelation 19:20 “And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.”
3. His body will be destroyed (killed, Dan. 7:11; cp. Mat. 10:28; Luke 12:5).
4. His body will be cast into hell (Dan. 7:11; Rev. 19:20; 20:10).
As Daniel was watching the little horn because of its boasting (cf. Dan. 7:8) he saw that the fourth beast was slain and consigned to blazing fire. This event will terminate “the times of the Gentiles” (Luke 21:24, 21:27).
