Romans Chapter 4 Vs. 21

The Promise Realized Through Faith

And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. Rom 4:21

fully persuaded that,... His soul was full of confidence that the Word of God bound Him to fulfill what He had promised. After 25 years, it was fulfilled. Faith was imputed for righteousness (Rom. 4:3-22; Heb. 11:8-12).

Abraham knew whatever God said he would do, He was perfectly capable of doing.

Believing God affirms His existence and character and thus gives Him glory.

Abraham was fully persuaded that God had power (dynatos, “spiritual ability”) to do what He had promised. What confidence in God this spiritual forefather possessed! He “in hope believed” (Rom. 4:18); he was not weak in faith despite insuperable odds (Rom. 4:19); he was not divided in his thinking by unbelief (Rom. 4:20); he was empowered by faith (Rom. 4:20); and he was fully persuaded God has the ability to do what He had said (Rom. 4:21).
