Daniel Chapter 7 Vs. 14

The Son of Man Is Given Dominion

And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed. Dan. 7:14

given Him dominion... The Son of man receives dominion, glory, and a kingdom composed of natural peoples of all races that they may be His subjects eternally. His kingdom is an everlasting dominion which shall not pass away, and His kingdom shall not be destroyed.

Three Great Bible Truths:

1. Christ will receive a kingdom at His second coming (Dan. 7:13-14; Zec. 14:1-21; Mat. 24:29-31; Mat. 25:25:31-46; Jude 1:14; Rev. 11:15; 19:11-20:10).

2. His kingdom will be an eternal one (Dan. 7:13-14, 7:18, 7:27; 2:35, 2:44-45; 4:3; 6:26; Psm. 45:6; 145:13; 146:10; Isa. 9:6-7; Oba. 1:21; Mic. 4:7; Mat. 25:31-46; Luke 1:32-33; Heb. 1:8; Rev. 11:15; 22:4-5).

3. His eternal subjects will be the coming eternal generations of natural people who will continue the same program that Adam and his race would have carried out if man had not fallen (Dan. 7:13-14, 7:18, 7:27; 2:44-45; Gen. 8:22; 9:12; Isa. 9:6-7; 59:21; 11:15).

These distinctions are earthly and speak of the promise of an earthly kingdom, ruled by Christ that merges into the eternal kingdom.

Isaiah 9:7 “Of the increase of [his] government and peace [there shall be] no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.”

Philippians 2:9-11 “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:” “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven, and [things] in earth, and [things] under the earth;” “And [that] every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

There is no question at all, that this is the One we call Jesus who will be King of kings and Lord of lords. He is Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End.

1 Timothy 1:17 “Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, [be] honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.”

The commencement of Christ’s everlasting dominion will take place at His second coming.

When the Son of Man was brought into the presence of the Ancient of Days, all the authority, glory, and sovereign power that had been exercised by rulers in the four kingdoms over all peoples, nations, and men of every language (cf. Dan. 3:4, 3:7; 4:1; 5:19; 6:25) was conferred on Him and those peoples worshiped Him. This is in keeping with the Father’s promise to the Son in Psm. 2:6-9, and will be fulfilled at Christ’s Second Advent (Mat. 24:30; 25:31; Rev. 11:15).

The Son of Man will establish an everlasting dominion or kingdom (cf. Dan. 4:34; 7:27). That kingdom will never be conquered by another (cf. Dan. 6:26). His reign will be established on earth (Rev. 20:1-6). At the expiration of the 1,000 years of the Lord’s millennial reign, He will surrender the kingdom to God the Father, after which Christ will be appointed as Ruler over God’s eternal kingdom forever (1Cor. 15:24-28).
