The Invasion by Gog
Sheba, and Dedan... Sheba, Dedan, and Tarshish were all traders among the nations on land and sea. Here they merely anticipated and expressed the true motive of Gog to fall upon Israel, and that is all that is meant by the verse. Nothing is said here to give us the idea of two sets of nations opposing each other—one helping Israel and the other invading her, as taught by some. Such questions could be asked by anyone, without even partaking in the war referred to. Sheba is an Arabian country. Dedan has to do with caravan merchants. Tarshish were merchant traders thought to be from Southern Spain. In fact, the three just mentioned would benefit by trading with Israel.
the young lions... The young lions referred to were the rulers of these trading nations.
