Therefore
because the king's commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding
hot, the flame of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach,

command carried out (the king’s command was… urgent) this
practice was not followed this time. The flames leaping through the
top opening of the furnace killed the men who had thrown the three
into the fire.
