Golden Image
And
whoso falleth not down and worshippeth shall the same hour be cast
into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. Dan. 3:6
whoso
falleth not... Failure to comply to the command to worship the image
was penalized by sudden death, being thrown into a blazing furnace.
The severity of the penalty indicates that submission on the part of
every official was obligatory.
Fiery
furnace... Tradition says that Abraham was cast into such a furnace
by this idolatrous people because he would not worship their idols.
