My Sheep Hear My Voice- Rev. 21:8

My Sheep Hear My Voice- Rev. 21:8

Before Jesus was crucified He told the disciples to watch and pray, something so simple, but they let their physical bodies take over and they fell back asleep. In these last hours of time you need to hear His voice. When He tells you something, it is very important, but most ignore my voice or just discuss it and go on with what they were doing. You will see many things start to happen shortly and if you do not hear and obey His voice,... it will mean death for some of you....Jesus has only your best interest in mind. Christ knows you heart, and if you are truly His you will hear His voice. He awakes many of you at 3am on the dot, but most will roll over and go back to sleep. There are a few who will get up and pray. Your day is filled with so many things and Jesus is the last thing many of you give your time to. But Christ needs to talk to you,... to fellowship with you and only when you are still and quite (3am) can you hear Him,... the rest of your day is so busy you do not have time for Him,... but you need to make time, for time is short and the Lord has instructions for you.

Revelation 21

The New Heaven and the New Earth

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death” Rev. 21:8

But the fearful,... Ten classes in eternal hell:

1. The fearful. Greek: deilos, cowardly; craven; vile; worthless; miserable; wretched; and unhappy. Found only in Rev. 21:8; Mat. 8:26; Mar. 4:40. In the Septuagint it is found in Deut. 20:8; Jdg. 7:3, 7:10.
2. Unbelieving. Greek: apistos, infidel, faithless (see, 1Tim. 5:8).
3. Abominable. Greek: bdelusso, to cause to stink; make loathsome; feel disgust; detest; have horror of; to be abominated. It refers to those polluted with unnatural lust. Translated "abominable" (Rev. 21:8) and "abhor" (Rom. 2:22). This latter passage refers to abominable immoral practices in connection with idolatry (2Ch. 21:11; Isa. 23:16-17; Eze. 16:15, 16:26, 16:29; Acts 15:20, 15:29; 21:25; Rev. 2:14-21; 14:8; 17:2-4; 18:3; 19:2).
4. Murderers. Greek: phoneus. Translated only as "murderer" (Rev. 21:8; 22:15; Mat. 22:7; Acts 3:14; 7:52; 28:4; 1Pet. 4:15).
5. Whoremongers. Greek: pornois, fornicators.
6.Sorcerers. Greek: pharmakeusin, persons who by use of drugs, enchanted potions, charms, and enchantments seek to produce supernatural effects in the lives of others. Only here; Rev. 22:15.
7. Idolaters. Those who practice idolatry and abominable immoral acts in worship of idols, as in point 3, above.
8. Dogs. False prophets and homosexuals are called dogs in Scripture (Deut. 23:18; Isa. 56:10-11; Phlp. 3:2; Rev. 22:15).
9. Liars (Rev. 21:8; 22:15).
10. Lovers of lies (Rev. 22:15).
the lake which... The same as Gehenna of fire (see, Luke 12:5).
burneth with fire... Clearly, hell is a real place.
which is the... The second death is the lake of fire, or the second separation from God in hell (Rev. 2:11; 20:14; 21:8).
A solemn, serious warning about the kinds of people who will be outcasts from the new heaven and the new earth in the lake of fire. The New Testament often goes beyond just citing unbelief in listing character and lifestyle traits of the outcast, so that believers can identify such people (1 Cor. 6:9-10; Gal. 5:19; compare John 8:31).
The contrasts between (verses 7-8), are graphic. They represent the age-old concept that there are only two kinds of people with God, believers and unbelievers. They experience two different lifestyles on earth and go to two different eternal destinies. Believers go to "eternal life" while unbelievers experience "the second death," which is the lake of fire.
Fear is not of God. Fear is the opposite of faith. In fact, it is mentioned twice here by saying "fearful and unbelieving". Jesus cannot be someone's Savior, unless they believe that He is their Savior.
The Bible speaks of sins such as homosexuality as being an abomination. Here, we see those who do abominable things taking part in the second death. Abomination, meaning vile, polluted, detestable, wholly caught up in wickedness and evil.
Notice here this says murderers, not accidental killing or killing in war. This is premeditated murder, or those who hate their neighbors.
We see here whoremongers. This is a person who has dealings with prostitutes, especially a sexually promiscuous man (this means not only in the physical but also in the spiritual).
Sorcerers has to do with the occult and also drugs (see Rev. 9:27).
Idolaters has to do with anything or anyone you put ahead of God.
Liars can do more harm than you can imagine. Many have a tendency to tell little white lies, but any untruth is a lie.
Those whose lives are characterized by such things give evidence that they are not saved and will not enter into the heavenly city.
Lake which burneth with fire (see Rev. 19:20). Brimstone (see Rev. 9:17). Second death (see Rev. 20:6).
After we are forgiven of our sins and born again, we must practice salvation. We must not have the habit of sinning. We may slip and sin, but if we do, we have an advocate with the Father. Repent and ask forgiveness, and then as Jesus told the woman who the Pharisees had caught in the art of adultery, Go and sin no more. Do not practice sin. The horror of it all if you do not change from these evils, is that you will be thrown into the lake of fire.

By contrast, those who practice the sins of the unbelieving world will be excluded from the New Jerusalem and will be destined for the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This judgment is a righteous punishment for their sins, eight of which are itemized here. He adds, This is the second death.

It should be obvious that this passage is not affirming salvation by works, but rather is referring to works as indicative of whether one is saved or not. Obviously many will be in heaven who before their conversions were indeed guilty of these sins but who turned from them in the day of grace in trusting Christ as their Savior. Though works are the evidence of salvation or lack of it, they are never the basis or ground of it. Similar lists of sins are found elsewhere in Revelation (cf. Rev. 21:27; 22:15).

In connection with the fore passage, the following points show that the new peoples and conditions will be as natural and as earthly as they are today, with the difference that all things will be made imperishable and new in character, righteousness, and holiness forever, instead of being under the present curse and sinful state.

The above quotations are the statements of two persons; one speaks “out of heaven,” while the other speaks “from the throne.” One seems to be the voice of Christ; the other is the voice of God who sits on the throne. The statements of the two voices are: (1) The voice from out of the throne, Rev. 21:3,4.(A) “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men.” This tabernacle will be a literal material one, as is proven in Rev. 15:1-16:1. It will come down from God out of heaven with the new Jerusalem. The preposition “with” is from the Greek meta and denotes “amid,” “among” (Mt. 26:58; Mk. 1:13), or “in company with” (Mt. 9:15; 2 Thess. 1:7; Rev. 14:13), thus further showing that natural men on the earth are the reference, for glorified men will have already been with God for 1,000 years. These men will be the ones who will have lived through the Millennium without rebellion against the kingdom at the revolt of natural men at Gog and Magog, led by Satan. These men stay in the natural state as God had intended. (B) “And he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.” The word “dwell” indicates God is to tabernacle among men in their midst, as in Jhn. 1:14; Rev. 7:15; 12:12; 13:6. God will be at visible form amongst men. (C). God Himself, the Father, “shall wipe away all tears from out of their eyes.” (D) “There shall be no death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
The voice of God who sits upon the throne, Rev. 21:5-8. (A) “Behold, I make all things new.” (B) God tells John to “Write for these words are true (from the Greek alethinos, meaning “genuine, real, and substantial,” Jhn. 6:32; 15:1) and faithful (from the Greek pistos, meaning “something to be believed, faithful, something reliable and trustworthy,” 2 Cor. 1:18. (C) “It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God and he shall be my son.
On the earth itself, after the restoration, it will be possible for vast multitudes of people to live. There are three passages speaking of a “thousand generations” (Deut. 7:9; 1 Chron. 16:15; Psm. 105:8), which is a Hebraism for “perpetual generations,” as is plainly stated in Gen. 9:12. In Psm. 90:10 we have the allotted life of man to be seventy to eighty years. If the “thousand generations,” were to figured on this basis we should have the continuance of the human race for 70,000 to 80,000 years. The English words “everlasting,” “forever,” “perpetual,” etc. are used for eternity of God, so if one is eternal the others must be. Any other usage of the words than in an eternal sense is always clear in the passages themselves.

God the Father recognized the possibility of the perpetuity of the race in sin when He drove Adam from the tree of life, lest he should eat of it and live forever in the natural sinful state. What is the purpose of tree of life in the New Earth if it not be for the preservation of natural life? Eternal bodily life of the heavenly saints will not depend upon such trees for they will have immortal bodies. Some may object to our taking the Scriptures so literally, but we find no authority for doing otherwise, as well as a responsibility for doing so. God has no limited power that He cannot do what He has foretold.

The Bride of Christ

We shall study the different phases of truth throughout Scripture concerning the New City, its names source, preparation, location, outward appearance, walls, measurements, materials, streets, buildings, lighting and water system, inhabitants, traffic, food, foundations, restrictions, and rulers. All of these show it to be a literal city and not a symbol of a company of people.
