Nebuchadnezzar's Second Dream
I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold, a watcher and an holy one came down from heaven; Dan. 4:13
I saw in... The king then explained that he saw a messenger, a holy one. This holy messenger, unknown to Nebuchadnezzar, would have been known to the Jewish people as an angel sent from heaven with an announcement.
a watcher and... A holy angel from heaven at the command of watchers and holy ones (angels) carrying out the will of the Most High (Dan. 4:13, 4:17). These watchers oversee the affairs of men to enable them to bring about the will of God in the earth (Dan. 4:17; 10:10-21; 11:1; 12:1; Mat. 18:10; Heb. 1:14).
