My Sheep Hear My Voice- Rev. 22:1

My Sheep Hear My Voice- Rev. 22:1

Before Jesus was crucified He told the disciples to watch and pray, something so simple, but they let their physical bodies take over and they fell back asleep. In these last hours of time you need to hear His voice. When He tells you something, it is very important, but most ignore my voice or just discuss it and go on with what they were doing. You will see many things start to happen shortly and if you do not hear and obey His voice,... it will mean death for some of you....Jesus has only your best interest in mind. Christ knows you heart, and if you are truly His you will hear His voice. He awakes many of you at 3am on the dot, but most will roll over and go back to sleep. There are a few who will get up and pray. Your day is filled with so many things and Jesus is the last thing many of you give your time to. But Christ needs to talk to you,... to fellowship with you and only when you are still and quite (3am) can you hear Him,... the rest of your day is so busy you do not have time for Him,... but you need to make time, for time is short and the Lord has instructions for you.

Revelation 22

The Eternal Perfect State

Under this heading we shall consider the last chapter of Revelation, and deal with such topics as the new heavens, new earth, new Jerusalem, new peoples, new conditions, new temple, new light, new Paradise. These teachings of Scripture concerning things in the ages of the ages to come.

The Water of the New Jerusalem

For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes” (Rev. 7:17).

And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. Rev. 22:1

river of water... Besides the 12 great rivers flowing down the midst of the 12 great broadways going through the 12 gates into all parts of the earth, there will be innumerable fountains of water of life throughout the city and many lakes and rivers in the earth (Rev. 22:1-2; 7:17; 14:7; also, Rev. 21:1). In one final glimpse into the future, John sees this river flowing from the throne of God. It is the source of eternal life that emanates from God. Even in heaven, we will drink water and eat food, probably not out of necessity for our health, but because of the pleasure and fellowship it will give us. This is symbolic of eternal life.

This river is unlike any on earth because no hydro-logical cycle exists. Water of life symbolizes the continual flow of eternal life from God’s throne to heaven’s inhabitants (see Rev. 21:6).

Jesus told the woman at the well if she drank of the water He gave her, she would never thirst again (John 4:14). This is the "water" He was talking about here. This "water" possessed life giving powers. The Source is the Father and the Lamb. This "water" springs up into everlasting life. In our day of pollution's, it is hard to visualize water this clear. When the soldier pierced Jesus' side, water and blood gushed forth (John 19:34). This is the water of life.

clear as crystal... Just like everything else in the New Jerusalem, the river was clear as crystal so that it could reflect the glory of God as it cascades down from the throne of God and of the Lamb in a dazzling, sparkling never ending flow of everlasting life from God's throne to His people.

The River Of The Water Of Life (Rev. 22:1-2)

In the opening verses of Rev. 22:1-21 additional facts are given about the New Jerusalem. The angel showed John the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb. While this may be a literal river, its symbolism is clear. Out of the throne of God will flow pure water, symbolic of the holiness and purity of God and the city. This reference to a river should not be confused with similar millennial situations such as those in Eze. 47:1, 47:12 and Zec. 14:8. These refer to literal rivers flowing from the temple and from Jerusalem and will be part of the millennial scene. The river in Rev. 22:1 will be part of the New Jerusalem in the new earth. The water flows down the middle of the great street of the city. This apparently refers to a main thoroughfare in the New Jerusalem coming from the throne of God with the river being a narrow stream in the middle of the street. The KJV attaches the phrase “in the midst of the street” to the next sentence rather than to the river.

It is significant also that the Lamb is pictured on the throne (mentioned also in Rev. 21:3). This makes it clear that 1Cor. 15:24, which states that Christ “hands over the kingdom to God the Father after He has destroyed all dominion, authority, and power,” does not mean that Christ’s reign on the throne will end but that it will change its character. Christ is King of kings and Lord of lords (cf. Rev. 17:14; 19:16) for all eternity.

There will be an abundance of water in the city, twelve rivers, as we will see, and living fountains of waters. These waters are as clear as crystal and are called living rivers and living fountains. If the city is to be like a mountain peak with the thrones at the top, the rivers will have a gradual flow for 1,500 miles from the top to the base of the city, where they will flow on down into some part of the earth.
