Daniel Chapter 4 Vs. 9

Nebuchadnezzar's Second Dream


O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof. Dan. 4:9


master of the... Daniel was recognized as being greater than all the learned men and religious devotees of his day. There is no indication that he belonged to this class or any other mentioned here. These were no doubt followers of Zoroaster, founder of the ancient Persian religion and the wisdom of the Magi. They were originally a Median tribe and were invested early with priestly rites. They guarded the sacred fire, recited hymns at dawn, and offered sacrifices. They had a reputation for magic arts, studied astrology and astronomy, and claimed to be able to do many things beyond human power.

I know that... He had definite proof of this in Daniel’s manifestation of the gifts of wisdom, knowledge, and interpretation referred to in Dan. 2:1-49.
